Thailand: masks and faces
I sat in one of the many bars on the busiest street of Volkin Street and inattentively watched one of the usual performances, where lightly trained and lightly dressed Thai women, inviting tourists with their sexual duty movements, diligently portrayed a joyful smile on their faces. It was their job, and work everywhere is required to be done well.
Sitting next to me was a friend who left snowy and aggressive Moscow a year ago and felt calm and comfortable on a foreign shore.
This was my third visit to Thailand. The first time I was about ten years ago, and Pattaya made a difficult impression . . My friend and I were then struck by unpleasant smells in the street and the uncontrollable desire of our compatriots to watch a sex show. There was one young mother who wanted to see everything so much that she left her five-year-old daughter with the guards of this haunted place, otherwise they wouldn’t let her in with her child. Oh times, oh morals! The second time, five years ago, I spent a week in Phuket, where my ex-girlfriend settled. and I flew there from Singapore.
I have always said and I can repeat that this is not my favorite country and I don’t understand those tourists who rest only here. It is clear that in the set from Turkey and Egypt, where there are no elephants and transvestites, there are certain advantages, but everyone determines this for themselves, depending on their desires, opportunities and tastes. It always seemed to me that this hotbed of international sex tourism from all over the world gathers lovers of cheap, dirty and dangerous adventures who do not have the opportunity to realize their fantasies in another society.
Now my views have changed.
“Do you want another cocktail? ” the friend asked. He drank beer, but I don’t like beer and therefore was content with cocktails, for strong drinks it was hot and stuffy.
I nodded and he made an order from the approaching girl.
I got the feeling that Thailand has changed a lot in these ten years for the better, and now I will try to explain why. Against the backdrop of our gloomy and embittered life, high prices and low-quality products, scandals and elections, unpunished embezzlement and irremovable leaders, Thailand looks attractive not only because of the hot climate, cheap fruits, exotic and sexual entertainment, the main thing is the opportunity to relax and forget about negative emotions in the land of smiles and Buddhist temples, where we are welcomed and loved
