about. Phuket

Weather: overcast, rain, sun

Phuket greeted us with heavy rain and a tight sky. For some reason the mood got worse.

We arrive at the hotel. Coast of Karon.

Hotel Karon Sea Sands Resort, declared as 4 stars. The cost is approximately $50 per day.

The hotel made me happy. Small landscaped area. The hotel has a new look. The rooms are spacious and not shabby. Good varied breakfast. There were almost no Russian-speaking tourists, many Japanese. Beach across the road. But the road is narrow and there are not many cars on it. On the beach, sun loungers are paid, around three and a half dollars for two sun loungers with umbrellas. A distinctive feature of the beach is the sand. It creaks underfoot like snow. First time I've seen this. The sea was not calm - but we swam. There are cafes with fresh (live) seafood in full volume. In general, a pretty nice coast. Approximately 7 km drive Patong Beach - The heart of the nightlife. Bars, restaurants, discos, shops, transvestites, Thais…….

In general, fun - fun and again a lot of fun.

Since Phuket didn’t make us very happy with the weather, we decided to “hit” on excursions:

The whole day there was no rain or sun. Great weather for excursions.

We bargain with taxi drivers for a long time and point where we want to go in Internet printouts. It turns out that everything is in different parts of the island and it’s impossible to go around everything in a day. We make a route and bargain with a taxi for about 57 bucks per route. And so the first place we go is Phuket Big Buddha, a huge 45-meter Buddha statue located on a mountain, which the Thais consider as one of the wonders of the ancient world. It also offers stunning views of the nearby beaches and coves.

Next, we move to the Wat Chalong temple. In this temple is the tomb of the oldest monks. Here you can find statues of two of Phuket's most famous Buddhist monks: Luango Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang.

The riot of colors of architecture is striking. The impression is as if you are in a fairy tale.

Butterfly Park.

The park has an amazing collection of tropical butterflies and insects that are kept in their natural habitat. At the entrance they give out food for butterflies and they eat directly from their hands. Butterflies are beautiful, different, charge with positive emotions.

Next is Phuket town. Personally, I didn't find anything special about him.

It contains a collection of Asian and African mammals and birds. Every day, according to the time, there are performances with crocodiles, monkeys and elephants. Performances in the afternoon with an interval of 30-40 minutes. Elephants - well done. The show features five elephants, incredibly cute creatures. And they draw, and ride, and sit, and play volleyball. Monkeys are modest. Two frostbitten monkeys are reluctantly rummaging around the stage with a detached look. Crocodiles - I'm personally scared.

Some of them are uncontrollable and there was always a feeling that they would bite off the trainer's head, or arm, or leg. But the zoo itself is very well maintained and beautiful. If you are on vacation with children, they will definitely like it.

The next day, the clouds all disappeared somewhere and the long-awaited sun appeared. And they discarded all their excursions planned for this day and stretched out on the beach. As a result, we did not visit two temples and an aquarium. In the evening we go to Fantasy See. Amusement park. A riot of lights and colors, as always shops with a souvenir, etc. Offered in a complex with a gala dinner and transfer. We decided that it was not interesting for us and we were only going to the performance, starting at 21.00. As a result, we pay for an entrance ticket almost like for a ticket with a transfer and a gala dinner, something in the region of 60 bucks per person, but then we immediately get what we wanted.

The show is amazing, again, there are a lot of elephants (which are really cute shitting on stage) and a person is constantly running around with a bucket and a scoop cleaning everything up. A riot of colors and characters, costumes and people. Stunning special effects, acrobats, lights and even rain. In general, a large-scale performance in a large-scale hall. I like it. Although a friend of mine was on it a couple of years ago, I didn’t hear much enthusiasm from her.

about. Phi Phi

We arrive at Pi Pi (or Phi Phi), a tiny island in two hours you can get around it all. Pi Pi, according to those who have been here before, is not the same anymore. Many people, bars, hotels, boats and everything that used to be wild is already polluted by human hands.

We check into Phi Phi Villa Resort. Capital building bungalows, well-groomed territory. There are almost no Russian speakers. Many Spaniards - Germans - Italians. The cost is approximately $80 a day with breakfast.

Breakfast is so-so, but around a cafe with seafood and fresh juices from different vegetables and fruits in full. In the evening, there are many night bars, so you won't be bored. Very annoying signs on the island TSUNAMI EVACUATION ROAD. At night, it rains and the wind is so strong that all the palm trees shake. I begin to think deeply about the meaning of the sign. In the morning, there seemed to be nothing, in the sense of rain. The sun fries - beauty. We go by boat to the nearby islands. To the Maya Bay beach, made famous by the film The Beach starring DiCaprio. We arrive at ten o'clock in the morning, there is nowhere for an apple to fall on the beach, people and boats are all around - they stand like herrings in a jar. Then we swim along the islets and capes, dive with a mask, admire the fish and the seabed, bask in the blue ocean. The next day we take a boat like a kayak and move on our own to the beach with monkeys (they call it Monkey Island). The picture is the same, there are a lot of people and boats, few monkeys and everyone is very arrogant.

The entire beach is littered with plastic bottles and leftover food. By the time we got back, the tide began to ebb. The place where an hour ago there was depth, now there is knee-deep water.

In any case, Pi Pi was very pleased. Nice and pleasant island. It is worth staying on it for two or three days.

about. Karon

We met the guys on Pi-Pi, they just arrived from Krabi, they say don’t go to Krabi now it’s the worst season and it’s raining. We arrive, the sun is shining brighter than on Pi Pi.

Initially, they did not read anything about the coasts and chose a hotel from photographs. Madly in love with the little white bungalows, they were booked

Nantra De Deluxe, Krabi about $60 per night. The hotel, as it turned out later, is located in the Had Yao Beach area. It's on the other side of the tourist traffic. This place starts where the signs with Latin letters end.

This is a Muslim village and there are no people speaking English at all, the locals are shocked by the “pale-faced tourist”, there is no life outside the hotel, alcohol is not sold even in stores. There are 4 hotels on the entire beach (and it is very long) and they are so far from each other that we did not see the other three at all. In the hotel, mostly Thais and sometimes Germans usually rest. We check in, the service is such that you feel like "The master has arrived. " Conduct an extensive tour of the hotel (they speak English - it pleases). It can be seen that they are not spoiled by tourists - they are trying. When you check into the hotel, only two bungalows are occupied. Impression, like we rented the entire hotel. You can swim in the pool even at night. We ordered dinner, we were served by 4 people, led by the chef. At twelve o'clock at night we call the reception with a question, why are there no Russian channels?

After about fifteen minutes, a guy from the reception comes running, who later was nicknamed Gene and brings films in Russian. No one knows where he got them : ). The next day we lie around the pool and the ocean - they are nearby, though the ocean is not "bathing" as for me. The water is brown, the coast is like in Goa, some kind of brown and the vegetation is also similar to Goa. The service continues to please, beer is brought directly to the pool, you don’t even need to climb out of it, just raise your hand. The invoice for painting is brought there. In the evening there should be a big check-in and some kind of Thai corporate party. They told us this after confirming the reservation and were very worried about this, saying that it’s our fault to postpone your visit for two days, and we will give you a Villa with a private pool at a standard price for this. And we, where to transfer it - we already have air flights and the whole tour is planned.

In general, we say do not worry, we will survive your corporate party, and you give us a discount on your hotel in Bangkok. On that they agreed. By the way, on the topic of their villas with a pool - absolutely irrational. The pool is personal - it is two by two, it is generally not clear what it is intended for. And in standard bungalows, an awesome bed on the terrace in each room. In general, by the evening the corporate party begins to be drawn together, it is clear by the look that some kind of rich Thai corporation. Then Jin says it's from Bangkok. And kindly, at the expense of the hotel, he gives us a Jeep, so that we would go to see the island, (and not get in the way at the corporate party, so to speak: )). He also provides us with a mobile phone, from which you can only call the reception in case of emergency. We are going to see the city of Krabi and its markets, again, I do not find anything remarkable for myself. All banks are closed at five in the evening, there is nowhere to change money. We call Jin and ask where to change?

Only here you need to prepare to walk about two kilometers to them.

Hot springs are also natural springs with hot water, you should definitely visit. Tired as a hand removes.

Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia.

Weather: Heat. The sun. Not a single drop of rain.

For myself, I called this city and country, the country of non-loading Islam.

The airport is about 70 km from the city. Taxi only through the bureau. It's impossible to just reach an agreement with someone. I see a huge plus in this, since when you come to a foreign new country, you are not heated from the start for a certain amount. We check into the Citrus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. An ordinary metropolitan hotel for spending the night. A huge minus is that it is not far from the metro, in the morning the impression that the train is going near your head. I couldn't sleep, it was terrible.

In the evening we go to look at the twin Petronas Towers in the lights. Impressive scope. Incredible buildings.

We go to the first floor, and there all the stores of world brands are in a row and women in a veil are strolling imposingly between them, buying up Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Along with this go Asian girls in short skirts, women in saris, tourists in shorts.

I am glad that everyone speaks and understands English. We read about the Chinese night market on the Internet - we are going. I buy a beautiful leather bag for $15.

Next day Batu Caves is one of the most popular caves of Hindu gods outside of India. Caves hundreds of meters high were formed about 400 million years ago in limestone rocks. To get to the entrance to the cave, you need to climb 272 steps.

It's worth seeing.

Then we go to the twins in the hope of taking a walk along the bridge between them. But nowhere on the Internet (on our introductory sites) was it written that this bridge does not work on Monday. We were a little upset, but then we remembered Minar, the TV tower. Let's climb it.

Everyone is given an audio guide (there is Russian). The minar has 10 viewing windows from which you can see the whole of Kuala Lumpur in all its glory. And here they are Gemini, you can consider the highest points.

There is nothing to do in Kuala Lumpur for more than one or two days. But it's all worth seeing. In the evening flight to Lankgavi.

about. Lankgavi.

Off-season weather: Heat. The sun. Rain 15 minutes

We were surprised, but here is the Duty Free zone. Martini $8, beer cheaper than in Thailand.

The island is not big, the next day all the beaches were run in.

Of all the sights, we choose Eagle Square for ourselves. One of the main attractions of the island, where there is a monument to the red-brown eagle, which is found only in Langkawi. INTERNET QUOTE "Real eagles are circling over the square, vigilantly watching their stone brother, who magically spread his wings and seemed to be ready to take off. " RESULT: NOT A SINGLE eagle soared : ).

Represented mainly by Toyotas of the King of pink color with checkers on the roof. If the red light on the windshield is on, the car is free. Just raise your hand and that's it.

2. If you plan to go on excursions yourself (by taxi), write down all the Names and Addresses.

3. English is mostly spoken poorly or not spoken at all. Even if you speak, it is not always possible to read Latin letters.

From what you must visit - this is the Grand Palace

Palace of the King. Opens at 14.00 If you arrived earlier, then there are several more temples nearby that you can visit - a reclining Buddha, a standing one, etc. There is a dress code for visiting Grand Palace, covered shoulders, elbows, knees. But even if you arrived "not in the format", you will be offered things to rent. Moreover, it is absolutely free, only for a deposit that is returned.

Next, we visited the Ancient City - Ancient City, Sukhumvit Road, Bangpoo, an open museum located outside the city. This is Thailand in miniature.

Statistics claim that this is the largest museum in the world. The museum repeats the map of Thailand, with all regions, architectural sights and culture. It is better to go to it in the first half of the day, in the morning. Moving around the museum on rented or excursion walking open buses or golf carts. All this for an additional fee. The museum is amazing. Had a wonderful time.

Riding on the Chao Phraya River. Nothing particularly remarkable. I liked it, there is only one stop where you can buy bread and feed the catfish directly from the boat, there are so many of them there, they eat right from your hands.

Oceanarium. Siam Ocean World is located in Siam Paragon Mall. It's definitely worth a visit. It is worth a visit for both adults and children. All the same, this is the largest oceanarium in Southeast Asia. It is worth taking a full ticket (about $ 30 for one adult).

This includes a tour of the technical parts of the aquarium - the aquarium itself - a trip on a boat with a transparent bottom - foot massage with fish - popcorn and cola - a movie in 4D cinema. At the very beginning, we were not impressed, we go in, some small aquariums in the walls and on stands, the thought flashed fuuuuu, I knew it, I had to go to the aquarium in Phuket. With each subsequent step, the thought left and was replaced by enthusiastic glances at all this underwater splendor. In 4D they watched a movie about reef sharks in English. But even if you don't know the language, it's still worth going. The chairs kicked and moved, periodically blew air into the neck and in the end, everyone was splashed with water. I was in 4D for the first time, so there is nothing to compare with, I liked it.

We really wanted to visit Dream World, the largest amusement park in Thailand. But it takes a whole day, We, unfortunately, did not have it.

In the absence of a single good amusement park with a swing in our country (Ukraine), I try to visit it in countries where it exists. It's a pity that there was no time. So, it wakes up a reason to come back again.

A separate item is the markets of Bangkok. A lot of them. Lots of night markets. All sorts of trinkets and souvenirs can be bought here at normal prices. Little things from clothes, shorts, sundresses, T-shirts are also available. We have also been to several malls. MBK is one of the most popular. Many things are like in night markets, only everything is more expensive. For example, I bought a sushi set at the market for $10. In the MVK, they wanted almost 20 for him and did not want to concede. But in MVK there are nice shops where you can buy something from clothes.

The trip is over. There is a long road home.

Bangkok saw us off with heavy rain.

Amazing vacation.

A huge plus is not the season, there is no hot sun and you can visit many attractions. The big downside is that you can't plan everything ahead of time. Every day began with the words, well, what about the weather? And only after that the planning of the day begins. Many thanks to the weather, that all the same, there were few rains, and they absolutely did not interfere with us, as they went at a convenient time for us : ).
