Rules of the road

If we recall the year 2010, then for tourists and foreigners in general, driving without a Thai license was not a problem at all. Even drunk driving was considered commonplace.

Rights. For rights, you can easily get rid of 300 baht (on the spot), or you will have to go with a receipt to the station and pay officially. Punishment (fine) for lack of rights is constantly increasing. Instead of Thai rights, only international rights are accepted.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited on the beaches, but we will not talk about that now. Hookahs are banned in Thailand and every hookah you visit in the country is all illegal fun. Of course, everything works under "supervision". A tourist is not threatened by smoking a hookah, all responsibility lies with the owner of the institution.

Electronic cigarettes are a very big danger for anyone in Thailand. There is a fine of 1 million baht ($30.000) or imprisonment for up to 10 years. Absurd? Agree. But if you look deeper, then all these prohibitions seem logical if you look at the cigarette business. The quality of tobacco products is low, the price is too high. They are certainly more harmful than electronic cigarettes and vapes, but for some reason it is not tobacco products that are banned.

Drones and UAVs

On January 1.2018, all drones must be registered. The penalty for an unregistered drone is 100.000 baht and/or 3 years in prison. In other words, both punishment and prison or one thing can be applied. The price of these products inside Thailand has increased significantly.

The peculiarity of all laws in Thailand is that the law is adopted and not enforced for some time. Then a series of arrests are made and the media cover it very greedily and savor every little thing. This is how the government communicates the laws to the public.
