On May 8.2013, the museum was opened in Stockholm with fireworks, music, press coverage and the delight of ABBA fans. One can only regret that the Swedes did not open it earlier, at least 20 years ago. Well, okay, because the current discovery is also a miracle, because it could NOT HAPPEN faster than it happened.

Let's get closer to the topic. It is very convenient that the museum is located on the museum island - exactly 5 minutes walk from Junibacken, Vasa, just on the way to Skansen, so you can safely plan 2-3 hours to visit it. I will say right away that you can get to the museum island on foot from the Royal Palace in about 40 minutes, slowly, admiring the magnificent hotels, yachts and just the houses of wealthy Swedes. This is if you do not rush and enjoy. If you are in Stockholm in a fast way, then walk to the T-central station (this is along the main shopping street Drottinggatan), it is about 15 minutes from the palace. Next - turn right towards the chic shopping street, where the MOST EXPENSIVE STORES are located. Accurately at the beginning of the street, tram number 7 starts its course, which in 8-10 minutes (and I don’t know how many crowns, because I bought a ticket for a day), will take you to the museum island. All the museum and all the stops are indicated on the wall inside the tram, but it is not written about ABBA yet, but the tram will bring you DIRECTLY to the museum. It is interesting that by taking a tram, you can just ride and make a full circle around the island - where there are mansions of very rich and famous Swedes. It is noteworthy that in 22 years not a single tenant has moved from this island, EXCEPT for Bjorn Ulvaeus, who sold his mansion there last year and moved to a fashionable area. So you can imagine: WHO lives THERE and HOW MUCH it costs.

We arrived at the museum. In front of the museum there is a small white car with an inscription - ABBA Museum, a canvas with the faces of the legendary four, where you can go up the ladder and take a picture. opening the "window" and inserting your face instead of "theirs". The entrance to the museum is preceded by a store where you can buy cute little things: magnets, key chains, CDs, notepads, pencils, cups, bags, towels, umbrellas, T-shirts, etc. , of course, with symbolism of ABBA. When I entered the museum, the sun was shining, a basket with umbrellas was standing not far from the door, but not intrusively. When I left after 2 hours, it was already raining and I gladly bought an umbrella, the basket with which was right at the exit and it was simply impossible not to notice it. Moreover, it noticeably emptied))) (Marketing in action). So let's move on. To get into the museum, you need to press a button in the form of a key in a special machine in the hall of the store and get a number. At 11-15 my number was 100. Everyone is standing and waiting for your number to light up at the checkout. You come up and pay CARD ONLY, no cash (Bjorn Ulvaeus spoke at a press conference and said that they support cashless payments) 195 CZK, children 145, children under 5 years old - 50. Prices can be found on their website. There is also an audio guide in Swedish and English. Considering that ABBA was loved in the Union and some of the fans will still come to this museum from Russian-speaking countries, it is very appropriate to make an audio guide in Russian. In addition to pleasure for tourists, this is also a direct benefit to the museum - another + 75 crowns (I could be wrong, but the price seems to be the same). Next. At the entrance you are given a map of the museum. Keep the ticket until you arrive home, because if you want to sing and participate in various events at the museum, you scan the ticket number, then at home activate yourself on the site using this number and at home look at the information about yourself on the site. There are many halls in the museum, there is a dance floor, where, of course, to the music of ABBA, those who wish of all ages either dance or catch a buzz. There are booths for karaoke songs, there is a hall where you enter the stage and sing, and the figures of singers are projected onto you, there are halls dedicated to EACH of the magnificent four. And the crown of everything is the hall where, probably, all platinum, gold, silver (everything is very protected from thieves) discs and ABBA awards are collected, where there are concert outfits. It is noteworthy that 1-2 melodies from ABBA sound in each hall. You can take pictures everywhere, you can also be in the museum as long as you want. There is a hall where there are computers and you can participate in a quiz on the knowledge of the history of the ABBA group. Moreover, you choose 3 levels: easy, medium, difficult. Interesting)))

I will be glad to answer all questions about this and other museums of the museum island. I will post photos of the ABBA Museum in a couple of days. I hope that the information is useful to someone.

Sincerely, Liana M.
