We rested in Zheleznovodsk for the 4th time. The previous 3 times were back in Soviet times. And finally, we got there again. The Caucasus is the Caucasus! Majestic mountains, vast forests, mineral springs, and an unforgettable experience!

We went to the Caucasus by car (from Ukraine), four adults and two children. Although the Rostov-Baku highway allows you to drive confidently and quickly, the number of traffic police posts and employees, as well as the amount of fines, forces you to drive at speeds up to 90 km / h. 14 hours on the road (of which 2 hours at customs) and we are there. We stopped privately at an apartment on Mironenko Street (we agreed in advance by phone). The advantage of this was the lack of timing of nutrition. On the first day, they walked around the entire central and park area of the city, restored routes and sights in memory. The sources (Smirnovsky, Slavyanovsky, Lermontovsky) still remained free of charge, as before. Yes, in principle, the city itself has not changed much. Zheleznovodsk is the quietest and most beautiful resort of the entire CMS complex. The city is located in a semicircle at the foot of Zheleznaya Mountain, nearby are Mount Razvalka, Mount Beshtau (behind which Pyatigorsk is located. A daily regular walk around the city in the forest and park area) and the use of mineral water only had a positive effect on health. In addition, you can additionally go for procedures (of course, for a fee) in any sanatorium. We only went for massages at the Health resort. The only thing that has changed for the worse is that the health path to Mount Zheleznaya is not cleaned (littered with fallen trees) and no squirrels were seen in the park (there were a lot of them before). According to the locals, the squirrels were eaten by feral cats (and there are a lot of them).

In Zheleznovodsk, in addition to the cultural and recreational program, we went on foot to Mount Zheleznaya (you can see the whole city from the top), to Mount Razvalka (along the path through the forest), and also accomplished a feat by climbing one of the peaks of Mount Beshtau (you can see an amazing view of Zheleznovodsk, Lermontovo, Essentuki, Pyatigorsk). Twice we went to Pyatigorsk - to Proval, on a cable car we climbed to the top of Mount Mashuk (from which you can see the snowy peaks of Elbrus), and to the place of Lermontov's duel. We went on an excursion to Kislovodsk. Beautiful city. A huge park in the center of the city, in which there are immeasurably squirrels (they eat nuts straight from their hands, run through the trees and on the ground). Beautiful mineral water gallery Narzan. It is a pity that we did not have much free time to see more. You should definitely come to this city for a few days. Kislovodsk is the largest resort of the CMS, with the largest number of tourists.

We decided to go to the mountains. We chose between Elbrus and Dombay. In the end, we still went to Dombai. The resulting emotions are simply impossible to put into words - the majesty and beauty of these mountains must be seen! We climbed on the cable car to a height of 3000m. - the view is amazing!! ! Snowy peaks, bright blue sky with bunches of white clouds. The sun at the top is so active that you can simply get burned in 20 minutes. Even though there is snow underfoot. All in all, you have to see it for yourself!

There is much more to say, so I will summarize.

The Caucasus is an excellent place for rest and restoration of health. I recommend to stay there to everyone! And if you also go skiing - maximum pleasure in Dombai is guaranteed for you!! ! The sanatoriums in Zheleznovodsk are not far from Soviet times, so if you stay privately in an apartment, you won’t lose anything!

I am sure that it is impossible to leave the Caucasus without positive emotions!
