Santa Claus is visiting.
In general, this trip was not only to Veliky Ustyug, but also to Vologda. Since only one place of visit can be noted here, I’ll tell you more about it in more detail.
There is such a tour near the Labyrinth "To Veliky Ustyug to Santa Claus". So the husband made a gift to the children by buying this tour at the agency 8 days 7 nights, which is next to work. Gifts and certificates were ordered immediately. As it turned out, when buying later, they are more expensive.
All the way with us was an escort from the Labyrinth. She met us at the station at the train departure board. For our group, one car was allocated completely, which was only hooked on the way back to other trains to Vologda, and then to Moscow. Things could be left in the car while we were on excursions.
In the first direction, we had train 296 Moscow - Kotlas. On this train until we arrived, it took one day. Arriving at the station early in the morning, there we were met by a guide of a local tour company and with him we went by bus to Ustyug. After breakfast in a cafe, we went to explore the city center. At this time dawn broke. It was very cold. We walked along the main street, visited the Sukhona embankment, admired the temples and went into one of them. Then there were gatherings at the local House of Culture. We played a scene of Christmas gatherings with caroling and fortune telling. We learned and heard the peculiarity of the dialect of the Russian North. They joined fortune-telling on rings and pulled out a log from the sheepskin family in order to find out what kind of groom someone would have. It was very fun and educational. There, the children were given sweet gifts and certificates. We went to the Father Frost Homestead itself.
At noon we were already there. Further, all the places on Votchina were strictly on the clock. There are many people there. First, we went to the post office, where we took pictures with Grandfather, the children read poems to Grandfather's helpers - snowmen. Those, for this, handed each one a sweet ice floe - candy. The next point was the Trail of Fairy Tales. The forest dwellers met us and asked riddles or sports problems and passed us to each other. We even met one of the brothers of Twelve Months. And then the Trail of Fairy Tales ended. We went to Grandfather's House. This is the whole Terem, where we looked at two floors of rooms. In one of them there is an office, in the other there is a wardrobe, a bedroom, a library. There is a separate room where children's gifts for Grandfather are collected. There is also a small observatory, a room from where Grandpa watches the stars from a telescope. There is a stage near the tower. Here the crow was preparing for the Olympics. Nearby are tents with souvenirs: felt boots, hats, toys. Leaving the tower, we went to the forge. There, the children were told about this ancient craft, about some of the beliefs associated with blacksmithing. At this time, a small heart was forged from a metal rod.
There was still time for the children to ride down the big ice slide. And we also looked into the winter garden with wonderful heat-loving plants. We spent three hours on Votchina. It was very cold. Then there was a late lunch and the road to the station. We went to Vologda. There we were waiting for a festive program, a fair. After spending the whole day there, in the evening we went back home. The children were happy.
