Torzhok is a small, provincial town, but quite a tourist one. And the choice for hotels and guest houses to stay there is available. Maybe, of course, not great, everything is in accordance with the size of the settlement, one might say.
Escape from Moscow for the so-called first May holidays was planned in mid-April. If in Tver then the choice of hotels was full of seams, I managed to miraculously snatch a night in the prettiest hotel "ROSSI" (I recommend it, if anything), then in Torzhok I also made a choice. I stopped, it seems to me, at the best option - the Torzhok Hotel 3 *.
The location may not be central. But taking into account the toy size of the town (well, what is interesting for a walking tourist), this fact does not matter at all : ))
In general, immediately from the pictures, and then with my own eyes, I felt a certain scope of the institution or something, yeah, such a wide, rampant one. Apparently, this is one of the popular places in the city for all kinds of celebrations and festivities. There is also a restaurant "Comilfo" at the hotel. But we did not manage to use his services personally. In those days, in Torzhok, in fact, as in any at least somewhat well-known, at least half-heard or glimpsed on photos from tourist sites, place (oh, this pandemic pandemic), there was an influx of guests. And the restaurant simply could not cope, even the dishes were not removed from the tables. Yes, and there were not many dishes from the menu, and those that, it seems, were, promised to be served in minutes in... an hour : ). In short, we did not grow together with the restaurant. And it was already evening, and the city cannot boast of a wealth of choice of food establishments operating after 19-20 hours. And grocery stores had already closed by that time, here, an ambush. But there was still a pizzeria nearby, indicated Yandex-cards, which saved us. And especially children, after all, you usually can’t feed them, and they don’t want to eat, and they won’t have what they have. And as there is nothing - so immediately eat to eat give. Yeah, the toilet is the same garbage : )).
Anyway. About the hotel:
For accommodation with children, we were approached by the format and cost of a room of the "Lux" category. There is a full-fledged sofa on which our gang is located. Not without dividing the territory, of course: who is to the right, who is at the wall, who threw the backpack faster, etc. etc. : )
The room is clean, comfortable, even homely, I would say, well equipped. The only thing I would like to improve is the entrance area. There is nowhere to attach outerwear, and you still need to get to the closet. Well, this is not nitpicking, but reasoning out loud.
The bathroom is cramped, of course. Especially in contrast to the spacious room, it seems quite tiny. I didn’t know how to dodge in order to capture my review for the future. So that's how it turned out : ). Clean, shiny, no stains or mold. Rylno-soap available.
Oh, by the way, towels and bed linen are signed with gold embroidery. Well, not really, real gold, but to match the local craft, known since the 13th century - Torzhok gold embroidery. Nice.
In general, the whole entourage of the hotel gives the impression of a very respectable institution. I do not understand the criteria for hotel stars. But the appearance of the Torzhok Hotel is not 3 * - it pulls more.
And, here, breakfast, on the contrary, seemed quite unpretentious. Maybe, again, in contrast to the rich interiors of the Komilfo restaurant, within whose walls food takes place... No, there is something to eat there: sausages, pancakes, porridge, etc. In general, a normal person is enough. But, let's say, not very normal, like me, is also enough, but you need to find fault : ). Somehow there was no riot of colors or something, sadly. Everything you need is there, but little things, like packaged jam, for example, are not. From drinks - water and tea, I don’t remember about coffee, I don’t have any juice drink or compote... But, in any case, you can and should have breakfast, given that there are not a lot of food establishments in the area.
In general, the Torzhok 3 * hotel suited us in terms of price and quality ratio. A nice bonus turned out to be a discount when paying for accommodation with a card, or rather, a failed attempt to pay with a card, the terminal broke. The required amount of cash was not available, so I had to make an online transfer to a private person. For this inconvenience, they made a discount. A trifle, as they say, but nice.
So if you happen to visit Torzhok, it is quite possible to stay for the night in Torzhok : )
