I wanted snow, the sea, a fireplace and mulled wine : -) We found all this in Svetlogorsk. Three of us went - me, husband and son (2.5 years). I chose the House of the storyteller on the Internet for a family vacation. An unusually low price bribed, even taking into account the New Year holidays. Approximately 2-3 times lower than similar offers of other hotels in the same Svetlogorsk.

I was also worried that because of the child we could be refused (for example, in the Crimea, not every hotel accepts children under 3 years old), but my fears turned out to be in vain.
As we agreed in advance, we were met at the airport, brought. The man who drove us (I apologize for not remembering his name) told us a lot of interesting things along the way, almost along with the transfer we also got a tour!
I liked the place at first sight. I can say that it was love! Two graceful cottages in a pine grove, surrounded by no less pretty neighboring houses - after Moscow with its new buildings and after our dull five-story buildings, the place seemed to me like a piece of paradise.
Inside, everything was also on the level. The tastefully (but without pretentiousness) decorated interior is complemented by paintings by contemporary artists, mostly landscapes of Svetlogorsk, and many places are recognizable while walking around the city. In general, the inside is very comfortable. We were in a suite, a very nice and comfortably designed room.
I also note the excellent work of the hotel staff in everything from catering to housekeeping.
We ate at different restaurants, of which there are many in Svetlogorsk, we only had breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast for two was more than enough to eat and feed the child, you could choose a variety of dishes from the menu.
We booked New Year's Eve dinner at the hotel. The evening was organized very interestingly, Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden did not let us get bored. There were funny contests, riddles, gifts. Imagine our surprise (I mean not only us, but in general all the guests who celebrated the New Year) when the administrator announced that Santa Claus was the respected owner of the hotel Boris Nakhimovich, and the Snow Maiden, who played jazz beautifully on the piano, was his daughter Sasha ! Now that was a surprise! in general, I got the impression that for Boris Nakhimovich the hotel is not just a business, but also a favorite thing in which he puts a considerable part of his soul. He is a very interesting person and a wonderful storyteller - a scientist, historian, knows a lot about the history of his native land, loves his city very much. The book he wrote, better than any guide, accompanied me on walks around the city. Another special thanks to him for a small but very interesting tour of Kaliningrad.
I will forever keep warm memories of Svetlogorsk and the wonderful people living in it in my heart!
