Hotel Marianna, st. Plastunskaya 44A, Sochi, Russia, August 2014
I travel quite a lot and have seen all sorts of hotel situations, but the situation at the Marianna Hotel outraged me very much and significantly spoiled my impression of this trip.
Firstly, I will immediately make clarifications to the information provided by advertising on booking. com
- WI-FI does not work in the rooms, but only in the lobby.
In addition, there is no elevator ie. An elevator is provided in the building structure, but it does not work and the elevator openings are neatly sealed with false panels, i. e. Elevator work is not planned in the near future. . . !! ! The hotel building has 7 (seven) floors (one is administrative, the other six are residential. Walking up the stairs, especially to the upper floors, is not an easy task, especially if you are with luggage in your hands...

A small courtyard is often packed with cars so that you have to squeeze between them and the smell of fuel and lubricants from these cars meets and escorts you...
I checked into my room late at night without incident. I liked the room, high ceilings, new furniture, etc. .
In the morning, since I am a foreigner, I asked to be registered in accordance with the procedure established in Russia. From that moment on, the circus, drama, comedy began... They tried to convince me that it was not their responsibility, that they did not have the necessary documents for registration in the relevant services, that now there are no responsible employees, no director, and the like . . On that we parted until the evening. In the evening, when I returned to the hotel, I was informed that after lengthy consultations with the management of the hotel, they offered me to return all the money paid for two days and go on my own to settle in another hotel... It is probably not difficult to understand my reaction to such a proposal and how much It took a lot of strength to contain the emotions. I reminded the hotel staff that I would definitely involve the relevant government agencies involved in such problems in solving this problem... Of course, I was not going to move anywhere, and in the morning I turned to the hotel workers again. As a result, I was registered at the private address of the hotel manager, Irina, citing the lack of necessary documents at the hotel. This whole check-in story really alerted me (until now there were no problems with check-in at hotels... ) and I wanted to get checks or receipts for payment for accommodation, but that was not the case. The hotel staff didn't give me anything, saying they don't give anything when paying. None of my arguments about the payment procedure and the issuance of reporting documents affected them and I did not receive the documents. In general, I got the impression that the hotel operates illegally, the money goes "by the cash register", etc.
Breakfasts in their civilized form do not exist in the hotel. What they offer under the guise of breakfast is even disgusting to criticize... The assortment: porridge or pancakes (2 pcs. ) Or a portion of cookies, tea or coffee and that's it, nothing more. You'll come later, you won't get the porridge. Portions are such that it is difficult to feed a cat... If you want something else, pay money...

If there is no water or electricity, have breakfast wherever you want. . .
There were two power cuts and one water cut in two weeks.
The noise from the street with the window open is unbearable.
Exhaust fumes are high.
The location of the hotel is very inconvenient, not a single public transport stop near the hotel.
There is also no crossing marked with a zebra. Crossing the winding road in Sochi is a very dangerous occupation...
There are sewage treatment plants nearby, sometimes “interesting” smells are heard...
For a long time I tried to strike a balance between price and quality of service, but then I decided not to waste time - anyway, I will no longer be a guest of this hotel.
