Of course, a lot could have changed since then, but for some reason I strongly doubt it. Arriving in Dagomys, we saw rather modest buildings that did not look like a sanatorium in appearance. Most likely, it used to be a holiday home.
Trouble began almost immediately. In the sanatorium, we were surprised to learn that our room was not prepared, although the vouchers were purchased in advance, namely on July 12.2006. Moreover, he was busy and we were offered to temporarily settle in another. I said that this does not suit us, because we paid quite a lot of money, more precisely 62.781 rubles 60 kopecks, and came to rest, and not sit on suitcases and move from room to room, and categorically demanded to place us on a permanent basis .
The administrator hardly agreed, offered to go up to the floor for now and wait there until the room was vacated and prepared. For more than an hour we, my wife and I and a small child, sat with things in the hall before we were able to move in. And still, while we were sorting things out, the maid came to change the bed.
The room was so small that the beds, refrigerator and bedside tables barely fit in it. There was not much free space between the bed and the balcony door. Bathroom combined. Shower without a tray, with a drain hole right in the floor. Some of the tiles and fittings are in an unsatisfactory condition, although, according to the information posted on the Internet, in 2005 the bathrooms were renovated in the sanatorium.
The food in the dining room is not that poor, but it did not differ in variety either. Despite the high season, there were very few fresh vegetables. Fruits are mostly imported - apples, oranges and peaches. Occasionally they gave cucumbers and tomatoes. And it's summer in the south! Subsequently, I discovered that much of the description of the Druzhba sanatorium on the Internet is greatly embellished or, to put it mildly, does not correspond to reality at all. There is conflicting information.
So, on one site it is said that the sanatorium is located in a park area of .5 hectares, and on the other - 3.34 hectares. The territory of the sanatorium is very small, mainly occupied by buildings, and it is difficult to call the rest a park zone. One site says that the resort is a 15-minute walk from the sea. Maybe an adult with a quick step will get there during this time, although in fact it will not be less than 20-25 minutes. In this case, the information is more like the truth. The path to the sea did not pass along a shady alley, as the advertisement promised, but in the sun along a broken sidewalk along the road, shopping arcades and private houses.
A private beach involves a separate or at least somehow designated territory. Here it was absent, the sanatorium owned only a room with sunbeds and other equipment, which was located on the edge, almost at the back of the beach. Sun loungers were given out free of charge according to sanatorium-resort books, but in fact no one ever checked them. On both sides of this room there are sheds under which one could hide from the scorching sun. However, due to the close proximity to the changing rooms and showers, the smell was not very pleasant. Therefore, vacationers were accommodated in any place they liked, albeit public, but, despite this, a fairly clean and well-groomed beach.
Between the beach and the sanatorium there was one bus, not two, and not every 10 minutes, as the travel companies promised, but only 8 times a day according to the schedule, which, moreover, could be changed. Therefore, if a person did not have time for a bus, he had to wait a long time for the next one, but more often go on foot. The bus was almost a prehistoric broken-down PAZik, into which people sometimes stuffed themselves like in Moscow at rush hour. It took about 5 minutes to drive in unimaginable closeness and stuffiness.
There are no handrails at the top, so if there was no place to sit down, then you had to stand, risking not staying on your feet. It is often mentioned, naturally as a publicity stunt, that the sanatorium is located in close proximity to the prestigious Dagomys health complex of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. From our balcony we, of course, saw the main building of the complex. However, it was quite far away.
The open sports ground on the territory of the sanatorium, allegedly with a volleyball net, looked not just unkempt, but neglected, which made it a very sad and miserable sight. There may have been an equipped children's room, but we did not see it. The so-called educator-teacher was represented by a woman who spent several hours in the afternoon by the children's pool. Contrary to her position, she did not work, but only watched the children, who were already looked after, because if they were at that time in the pool, and not at sea, then they must be with one of the adults.
There is practically no entertainment in the village, so there is nowhere to go in the evening or in cloudy weather, especially with a small child. In the evening, discos were held in the sanatorium, which consisted in the fact that music was turned on in a small area near the exit from the dining room.
About a week after arrival, the weather was overcast, the sky was covered with clouds, and we decided to go to the arboretum. We got to Sochi by taxi. Due to traffic jams and stuffiness, the road was long and tiring. On the way back, the child was lethargic, looked very tired and fell asleep in the minibus. The next day he fell ill. Contacting the administrator to call a doctor did nothing. The local clinic also refused. The doctor came only after I broke into the administration in desperation and asked for a phone to call an ambulance, because my son was very ill and we did not know what to do.
Even then I realized that the so-called rest in a sanatorium was not worth the money that was paid. Probably, it could have been cheaper and better to stay in the private sector or in one of the many small hotels.
In general, we were dissatisfied and left extremely disappointed, deciding never to rest here again.
