By the time the decision was made to leave, the choice to stop in Ryazan on New Year's week had noticeably decreased, but something remained. Give us, as always, cheaper from a decent one, with parking, well, it would be more centered : ).
I booked two options: more respectable, more expensive, but not so close to the historical center of the AMAKS Congress Hotel 4 * and cheaper, simpler, and, also, not quite, to be more central, so to speak - star-free Atlantic Hotel . Here, on booking, a number at the Kremlin Hotel suddenly showed up, it is, in general, next to the Kremlin - the location is super! By phone (I often call hotels before booking, especially when traveling with children, as they can offer non-standard options for family accommodation), they offered me a little cheaper than at booking. com. OK, deal. Payment on the spot, but, for some reason, there is no reservation number, no confirmation, they say they don’t send it. Call, they say, a surname, and that's it. We have registered you. Well, OK. Since I had hotels booked with free cancellation until the evening of the day of arrival, I did not cancel them. Yes, just in case. Here's how I felt.
Externally, the building and decoration of the reception hall in the Kremlin did not like it. Everything is rundown and cluttered. Well, okay, the price tag matters. But somewhere in the depths of my soul, the thought involuntarily slipped through “If only we were not settled”... Ha, it happened, we were not expected. In some strange way, they remember that phone call, but the room was not booked for us. We must pay tribute, they tried to resolve the situation, they showed one room with the words that it was specific, and if it suits us, then take it. The room really turned out to be a little strange: superbly battered by time and guests, an intricate bathroom (a shower on one side, a toilet in the other “office”), through the room there is an exit to the fire escape. Okay, fires, fortunately, do not happen every day, and if, God forbid, it happens, then we also get a priority : )). Actually, we take one night, why show off, we take. A-ha-ha, it turns out that there is a reservation for this room, and we are not destined to spend the night near the Kremlin : ))

So, we are going to the next one, as the cost rises - Atlantic.
For some reason, we didn’t really like the hotel from the photo. But what to do, there was not much to choose from. It seemed to us that it was something smelly, dusty... Maybe a false impression was modeled because of the old facade. But right here. hocus pocus: a large modern building is hidden behind the archway of an old house. And yes, there is plenty of parking space. And all these golden ferdibobels in design, seen in the photo, are associated with some kind of date place. In fact, everything turned out to be not so ferdibobel. The design of the hall and stairs even reminded a little of Italian hotels, or Czech ones... which are located in old houses. We already like it.
The lovely receptionist kindly allowed me to look at the room before paying. We arrived a little earlier than the estimated 14.00. At that moment, it was the maids who were cleaning up our mansions. Very pleasant young ladies showed everything, told, not a drop of irritation and nervousness in their voice, well, as it is, sometimes there is “and they go, here they go” : )). Everything suits us, we take it! So I won’t tell you about the next cost “AMAKS Congress Hotel” 4 *, we didn’t get there : ).
We had a two-room family room. Frankly, two standards in terms of cost would have turned out to be cheaper than this one, but there were none. But our bathroom was equipped with a jacuzzi. Oh, how happy the children were! And they were just stunned by the orange robes. And yes, this is the only hotel where the room was staffed for all four guests at once, and even four bathrobes! Here is an interesting observation of recent years: in simple hotels they provide dental kits, there, or the same shampoos, albeit in bags, but they are. And in star hotels, everything comes down to a single detergent from the dispenser, and dental kits are a great blessing. These are just thoughts out loud, I always carry my bells and whistles with me : )).

Clean, tidy and very hot. Yes, in January we slept with the window ajar. Of course, I had to build some kind of structure, since combs for fixing the sash are not provided. But this is a small thing, not a defect. Info for summer guests - mosquito net available and air conditioning available : )). Yes, there are, of course, scuffs in the interior, but according to natural wear and tear. It is evident that the institution is monitored and looked after.
For the second child, an extra place was prepared in the form of a folding bed. Although, there is plenty of space for them on the unfolded sofa. This fact has brought some discord among the child population: it’s for someone on a wide sofa, it means to lie down, and for someone to huddle on a cot, garbage that a cot is suitable for an adult. No, this is not fair! And, in general, it’s more convenient to watch TV from the sofa, and they have another series of Harry Potter there in the evening. And they won’t sleep together, because he kicks, and she pushes, and “finally” they won’t - that’s all. Well, it is clear that the formidable maternal voice dispelled all doubts about dishonesty : )).
Of the shortcomings or even personal whims: there is a kettle, but there are no consumables; a shelf would be in the bathroom to decompose; Oh, and the closet is kinda messed up. Actually, for a couple of nights it will do, but hardly anyone lives for a long time. Although, even with a short stay, I prefer to remove things from the visibility zone, well, I don’t like all this junk laid out on chairs. I say, these are my whims : ).
The hotel offers a breakfast buffet for 200 rubles. Husband and son, as the most picky eaters of our company, were sent to look at breakfast in order to decide. 200 rubles - the amount is ridiculous, but it turns out to be 800 for a circle. And the messengers sent good news - we take it!

Enjoyed the breakfasts. Yes, not an enchanting variety, but for such money it is gorgeous. And so is the buffet. Everything is there: scrambled eggs, porridge, instead of sausages there were excellent wings in vegetables, well, cheese sausage, jema butter, and muesli are also available. Instant coffee - but the price tag is appropriate. Perhaps the administration needs to think about changing the thermopot to something else, more voluminous. With a large number of guests, boiling water quickly ends, and this, of course, causes discontent and irritation. Yes, at least, put the kettle on, it cooks faster.
At lunchtime or for dinner, you can order from the menu, eat in the dining room or make an order in your room. The price tag is not outrageous. In fact, we haven't tried it ourselves.
There is also a sauna with a swimming pool in the Atlantic. But this moment has not been studied by us, and the jacuzzi in the room was enough for us to swell : )). Perhaps in our pandemic times they do not function, it is necessary to clarify.
The hotel is located in the central historical part of the city, near Theater Square. No, this, of course, is not the central center, not near the Kremlin, but quite within walking distance to all tourist locations. And with special laziness or haste - a cheap taxi.
Bottom line: a very pleasant hotel, without too much pathos, but not an eatery with beds. Friendly staff, well-kept rooms, good location for a tourist, the opportunity to have a good breakfast for an inexpensive price.
