Why go abroad if there is such beauty all around?! Rest and spring in Plyos!
I finally decided to spend the last week of my vacation with benefit. Therefore, together with a friend, quite spontaneously went on an impromptu trip to some cities of the Golden Ring. We started from Yaroslavl, then Plyos went, Kostroma was the last on our route. We thought we'd be done quickly. But we did not even imagine that we would hang out in a small Plyos for several days!
My friend is a creative person, so she was aware (I am not) that Plyos is closely associated with Levitan, who sang of his landscapes in almost every painting. Naturally, first of all we decided to see the sights of Plyos and visited the Levitan House-Museum, where the artist lived and worked.
In general, Plyos is an amazing place located on the Volga, which you can get around on foot in just a day. This city is simply created for unhurried walks: clean air, picturesque landscapes and a real Russian spirit (just imagine - wooden houses with shutters and mezzanines are still preserved here! ), which make the rest in Plyos as comfortable and sincere as possible.
But we did not take care of where to stay in Plyos in advance. Because we didn't even think of stopping here. They chose the Favorit Hotel right on the spot, they were very satisfied: it is located in the very center of Plyos, and there are a lot of sights nearby. And from my room there was just a stunning view of the Volga! Bonus: a cozy restaurant in the hotel, which every day tasty and inexpensively fed us, tired and hungry.
In general, having visited Plyos, I finally understood why everyone likes it so much!
