We spent five unforgettable days with my husband and travel agency
"Slavyanka" in Peterhof in a cozy hotel "Samson",
located opposite the Upper Peterhof Park.
The first thing most people associate Peterhof with is
of course, the famous fountains. However, in Peterhof there are
less known, but no less bright and interesting places.
One of such places is the landscape park "Alexandria",
named after Empress Alexandra Feodorovna -
wife of Emperor Nicholas I. This place has become a family
the residence of four generations of the Romanov dynasty. Not here
bustle and crowds of people walking.
Silence, peace and comfort distinguish "Alexandria" from the famous
Peterhof park. There are several
pearls - Palace "Cottage", Farm Palace (interesting,
that it was here that the decree on the abolition of serfdom was discussed
rights) and a delightful gothic chapel - home
church of the royal family.
We highly recommend: if you are in Peterhof, visit this
wonderful place.
Another charming corner of Peterhof are
"Olginy Islands": a large pond with two pavilions on
islands. One island - a corner of Italy with a mosaic from Pompeii,
the second is strict English style.
I really want to go back there again.
Of course, we walked far and wide and the entire Lower Park with
magnificent Peterhof fountains. But they are so
known that it makes no sense to describe them
