We went with a friend in September, to look at autumn Petersburg, booked a room at the Pilau Hotel on Nevsky 147. The hotel was pleasantly surprised for such a reasonable price (2400 for two per day, we had a standard room). Friendly and helpful administrators, clean, comfortable rooms with a TV, hairdryer, telephone, shower, free wifi, and if there is no laptop, then they will give it, also for free!
