To the northern capital by car.
We have been planning a trip to St. Petersburg in our car for a long time. And we finally got together this year. Our trip began with adventures: on Saturday, the queue at the border with Belarus turned out to be no less than at the mausoleum to the Great Ilyich : ) I had to return home and leave on a weekday. By the way, on Wednesday morning, 5 cars stood at the border with us, and having completed all the bureaucratic moments with documents, we safely entered Belarus. A few words about this wonderful country. "Wonderful" - because driving on the roads of Belarus is a pleasure, smooth, clean roads, cultured truck drivers are pressed to the side of the road, providing an opportunity to drive without interference, there is practically no language barrier, because. everyone speaks fluent Russian. Food prices (we stayed in Vitebsk) are 1.5 times lower than in Kiev, in a good decent restaurant. Thus, we reached the border Nevel in the evening, having passed the territory of Belarus in a daylight hours.
So, Russia. . . Russia greeted us with potholes, high prices for gasoline and lack of accommodation for the next 100 km. Considering the late time, we still had to spend the night in the town of Pustoshka, a roadside hotel that looks suspiciously like a "dormitory" for truckers, at a price of 1200 rubles per room. In the future, the price level grew in direct proportion to the approach to our travel destination. Fortunately, we booked a room in a motel 20 km from St. Petersburg in advance, while receiving a small discount. Then we visited Pskov, which for some reason did not make a big impression, despite the abundance of churches and monuments. We got to St. Petersburg in the evening, safely settling in the roadside motel "Voyage", 20 km away. Pulkovskoe highway from St. Petersburg. A few words about the hotel: the hotel is cozy and comfortable, renovated, nice staff. It is located very conveniently for those who travel by car - next to the highway, 30 minutes to St. Petersburg. Convenient for visiting Peterhof, Pushkino, the surroundings of St. Petersburg. The room cost us 1900r / day.
And here we are in St. Petersburg. Peter impressed me as a giant city. Monumental buildings, a large number of churches, monuments and canals. Crowds of tourists, queues at museums and high prices for literally everything. And also a constant cool wind that never stops blowing here : ) In a short 3 days in Leningrad, we managed to visit Peterhof and Pushkin, take a walk along the Neva canals, admire the bridges at night, go to Kronstadt, and of course, walk "kilometers » around the Hermitage. . . This is an unforgettable city and unforgettable impressions.
Our way back lay through Veliky Novgorod, an ancient ancient city, which we liked very much for its cozy, quiet atmosphere. After spending the night in Velikiye Luki, we safely crossed the border and returned to Kyiv late at night. Satisfied and happy.
