I had to travel quite a lot by car in the USA. There I was always surprised by the American phenomenon of roadside motels. Everywhere there are a lot of them, almost everywhere they are cheap and absolutely everywhere they are comfortable for a "one-time" overnight stay. I always thought - well, when will we have such motels? When will it be possible to travel around Russia and not be puzzled by the issue of pre-booking? It's not a secret for anyone that many mini-hotels along the highways or scoop scoop, or break prices like 5-star ones.

Actually, the "Petro Sport Hotel" is the first sign that made me believe that in our country there is some kind of positive in this matter.
Let's compare:
PROS
1) For the price, this is the same notorious "American motel" (a double room cost only $49).
2) In terms of entourage, freshness of the interior and the number of services provided, the Petro Sport Hotel is much better than most motels in the United States.
3) In terms of ease of check-in and check-out - at the same level (they took a printed booking sheet from me, gave me the keys and did not even ask me to provide documents).
4) Two bottles of mineral water in the room, a refrigerator, a hair dryer - these little things made me happy.
5) The location of the hotel is just a godsend for those who came to St. Petersburg by car. You are almost in the city, and on the other hand you are a few hundred meters from the Ring Road. Accordingly, you can get to any part of the city via the ring road, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the city center.
MINUSES
1) What unfortunate businessman guessed to make paid parking behind the Ring Road?????????? ? It's just nonsense! Make you 3-5 dollars more expensive per day for a room, but why use such tricky hidden ways to earn extra money?
At the same time, they say at the reception: "If you don't want to, park your car for free outside the hotel"... And on the free parking, on one side there is a forest, and on the other - a deaf fence of the hotel. Of course, no one will risk leaving cars there.
2) Prices at the local sports center are FUCKING!! ! The annual subscription is three times more expensive than reasonable prices and twice as expensive as biting prices!! ! And if we also visit the thermal zone in the SPA center, then the annual subscription reaches an astronomical amount, for which it is more appropriate to sell not annual, but lifetime subscriptions.
In contrast to the sports center, the prices in the SPA center are more or less tolerable.
3) The cost of a small bottle of mineral water in a local buffet (160 rubles) was bewildering.
4) Breakfast is paid and at the same time very poor.
5) We saved money on disposable slippers in the room! : (
6) And most importantly - this is a hotel ONLY for those who came by their cars!! ! If you are in St. Petersburg without your car - forget about this hotel! Why live far from the metro and torture yourself with additional transport problems? It is better to rent a hotel in the city near the metro. Let it be a little more expensive, but save money and time on minibuses.
But in general, the overall impression of the hotel is very, very good. You can close your eyes to annoying little things. After all, for very moderate money you get into a very respectable place with a claim to respectability.
