About food. SimPOMPONCHIKOVO!
It's been a long time. A baron named Pompon once came to Russia. He liked everything: dense forests, wide fields and blue rivers. But most of all he loved Russian cuisine. And folk cuisine. Unpretentious okroshka, pancakes, kvass ...However, donuts became the most terrible love of the baron. Lush, with oily barrels, richly sprinkled with powdered sugar. How many of them he ate during the long Russian winters! But the chef, who came from distant lands with the baron, unfortunately, did not manage to understand the art of cooking. And without donuts the baron no longer saw his life. As a result, he met old age in Russia. Since the baron was not only a maniac-glutton, but also a maniac-traveler, before his death he ordered to open a network of establishments where donuts, who loved them, and sea buckthorn tea would be served to all travelers.
Many years have passed. And it all came true. Although, to be honest, on com / " rel="nofollow"> site of the federal donut network
I noticed the sign on the way to Moscow:
Paluzhzhya itself was also surprised by the fact that locals sell corn along the route, which is cooked right on the roadside in large cast-iron cauldrons. Even in the rain : ). Unfortunately, this same rain-downpour in the evening on the way there did not allow to take a photo. And early in the morning there were no traders on the way back. But "Pomponchik" was already waiting for us:
The interior is cheerful and persistent:
Mental staff. The menu is informative and accessible:
Chebureks are served here like a mother baked in her childhood: a piece of juicy minced meat will be wrapped in the thinnest sheet of dough. The glasses in the photo are specially placed so that you can estimate the scale of the instance:
Pinchiki… This is not just fried dough. These are donuts with a capital letter "P". Oh, how I wove them in a pine grove near Chernihiv on the way home! And she regretted only one thing: that She had not assimilated them there, on the spot. I would know that they are so beautiful - five things are not enough: ):
So if you see a sign "Pomponchik" on the highway - feel free to park your "iron horse", come in and order. However, be vigilant. The food is delicious. Delicious on the spot. Delicious news. Association is guaranteed. Although the price tag, by Ukrainian standards, is not cheap.
Two chebureks, five donuts and two sea buckthorn teas cost us 475 whole (which at the rate of the National Bank is approximately 200.00 hryvnias, and for comparison a day in a Chernihiv hotel cost 350.00 hryvnias). But considering that the "pompon banquet" lasted all the way back from Russia to Ukraine, it is quite the same.
In general, this time they were surprised not only by the quality of the road surface (perhaps it is only on the Gomel-Moscow highway, I don't know), but also by the large amount of roadside infrastructure. Compared to the experience of four years ago , there is progress. Now there is a place to eat and rest. The only "but": coffee on the road is incredibly expensive (two "coffee" on average is 180-220 RUR, ie about 77-95 UAH).
But on the local FM-radio our Monatic is "turning his head" everywhere, and "Lisapetny Battalion" is tirelessly racing "Lisapet, like a tank" ...Well, to end on a major note, I will tell you a curiosity from history "Pomponchika".
The company practices navigation advertising: it installs billboards along the highways indicating the distance to the nearest cafe. The Pomponchyk advertisement on Leningradsky Shosse was erected on the roof of a modest village house in agreement with his mistress, an old grandmother. Once a strong wind tore this advertising banner and when it fell, it almost destroyed the roof of the house. When the banner (and at the same time the roof) was repaired, the crane beam fell and broke the porch. During the next repair, the crane installation "shortened", which caused the fence to catch fire ...But, they say, the grandmother, soldered by valerian personally by the management of "Pomponchik", did not deny the network further operation of its dilapidated property. So if someone will go past the "Pomponchik" from Moscow to St. Petersburg - please see that there with that banner : ).
And I have everything. And there is no strength to tolerate. Found a recipe. I'm going to fry donuts.
Writers: Of course, writing something about Russia now is somewhat incorrect. It's as if Stirlitz posted a review of the Elephant cafe on TurPravda. But I sincerely believe that the war will end, what was stolen will be returned to Ukraine, and we will learn to live in peace again. Countries. After all, neighbors are not chosen. And "housing exchange" on maps is impossible. But thanks to TurPravda I know very good people in Russia. Actually, this story is my kind of greeting to them.
PP: I would be grateful if we would not touch on the topic of politics and war in the possible comments on the story.
