AVOID THIS HOTEL IN BUCHAREST. THINGS ARE STEALING HERE!
LOCATION: Don't be fooled by the central location they advertise. The hotel is located in a very dangerous corner of the old city of Bucharest. Lots of aggressive drunks, homeless people, people on drugs JUST in front of the hotel. In the evening, you will be afraid to return. This corner is their daily meeting.
HOTEL: even if renovated, the hotel has smelly old rooms. The lobby smells terrible, a mixture of dirty old decor with lots of cheap, disgusting perfume to mask the smell. Think they serve breakfast in this awful smelly atmosphere.
BREAKFAST: The most outdated, terrible breakfast I've seen in many, many years of traveling around the world. The quality of the food is very LOW, disgusting salads with tons of mayonnaise to disguise bad foods, and the style of breakfast is like they haven't changed it since the dictator Ceausescu.
Also, for the first time in my life, I saw waiters in a 4-star hotel gossip about hotel customers with you. We were approached by 2 ladies serving breakfast and made us hear about the Italian lady on the opposite table who "had too much plastic surgery". This continued every morning when we had breakfast with other hotel guests. Therefore, if you want two uneducated habalkas to mock you and gossip with other hotel guests about you, this is the place for you))).
Question about hotel security: I forgot my sheepskin coat at the hotel, a family gift, and they didn't return it to me, saying nothing was found in the room. By the way, even with a sign on the door DO NOT DISTURB, they still enter the room. I contacted the hotel staff to help me with the robbery problem; they were rude and just laughed in my face.
There was no sympathy, no help, no understanding from the hotel; I repeatedly asked them politely to make an effort and check again, with the staff, in the room. I even offered a reward to someone who would return the sheepskin coat to me. The hotel said "maybe the next customer took the coat" which is again unbelievable and insulting to hotel guests.
AVOID THIS HOTEL if: you don't want to stay in a dangerous area, sleep in a dirty room; eat a disgusting breakfast, be the object of entertainment for the hotel staff, and end up getting robbed. Bucharest is a beautiful dynamic city with many good hotels for the same price. Avoid this dump.
TO BE AVOIDED: WORSE HOTEL IN BUCHAREST.
LOCATION: Do not be fooled by the central location they advertise. It is in a very dangerous corner of Bucharest old city. Lots of aggressive drunks, homeless, people under narcotics, JUST in front of the hotel. This corner it's their daily meeting point.
THE HOTEL: even if it is renovated, the hotel has smelly old rooms. The lobby smells horrible: a mixture of dirty old interior with lot of cheap disgusting perfume to disguise it. Think about what they serve breakfast in this awful smelly atmosphere.
BREAKFAST: the most outdated, horrible breakfast I've seen in many, many years. The products quality is very LOW, the food arrangement is horrible, they serve disgusting salads with tons of mayo to disguise bad products, and the style of the breakfast is as if they didn't change it from the dictator Ceausescu's time. First time in my life I have seen that the breakfast waiters in a 4 stars hotel are gossiping about hotels clients with you.
We were approached by 2 ladies, serving the breakfast and forced to listen about them mocking an Italian lady, at the opposite table, which “had too many plastic surgeries". This continued every morning we had breakfast, with other hotel’s clients.
So if you want to be mocked and gossiped with other hotels guests, this is the place for you.
Hotel SECURITY issue: I forgot my fur coat at the hotel, a family gift, and they did not return it to me, by saying there is no coat in the room. By the way, even you put the DO NOT enter sign, they still enter the room. I contacted the hotel staff to help me in the robbery problem; they were rude and just laughing into my face. I got no sympathy, no assistance, no understanding from the receptionists; I repeatedly asked them politely to make an effort and check again, with staff, in the room. I have even offered a reward for the one who finds my coat. The receptionists were useless; and they said that ‘probably the next customer took the coat’ – which again is incredible and offensive towards hotels guests.
AVOID THIS HOTEL, unless you want to stay in a dangerous area, sleep in a filthy room; eat a gone bad breakfast, being mocked by the hotel staff, and the end being robbed. Bucharest is a nice vibrant city with plenty of good hotels at the same price.
