I choose hotels primarily for the convenience of location: closer to the city center and transport, because I always plan an excursion program when I travel. So this hotel was chosen because it is located a couple of minutes from the Marquis of Pombal Square, from where the main avenue of the capital, Libertade, leads down. The choice turned out to be successful, having arrived late in the evening from Porto to the old Santa Apolonia station, I reached the hotel on foot. Even closer were the Rossio stations, from where the trains go to Sintra (further from the Sintra station, you can take a bus to the extreme western point of Europe - Cape Roca) and Sodre (trains to the resorts of Cascais, Estoril and to such historical and architectural places as Belem).

The center of Lisbon starts within a quarter of an hour's walk from the hotel. Opposite the hotel is the metro station Park, from where you can easily get to the airport and back. The Lisbon airport is within the city, so the ticket is for the regular price, and not for a special one, like in Paris or Madrid.

Of course, an economy class hotel is located in an old building, but this does not bother me, it even gives me a special comfort. The rooms are quite spacious, but cleaning is not every day, which is common in inexpensive hotels, while the hotel is quite clean. In the shower, the faucet handle has three positions: shower, faucet and bidet - this device is combined with a shower. The problem was that the dial with the marks rotated freely and the desired position had to be remembered after a couple of attempts. Breakfasts for long stays may seem monotonous (only boiled eggs are hot), but a good selection of delicious pastries. In general, the stay at the hotel left a good impression.
