The Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is located south of Cape Town at the foot of Table Mountain. It was broken up in 1913. The garden occupies a huge area of more than 500 hectares, on which about 5 thousand species of plants grow, many of them are endemic. It has a rich greenhouse and also contains a unique collection of aromatic herbs.
