The South African National Museum of Military History is located in the central part of the city. It was founded in 1947 and was originally dedicated to the participation of South Africa (at that time - South Africa) in World War II. In 1999, it was merged with the National Museum of Culture and History of South Africa, whose expositions told about the history of the Anglo-Boer Wars.
