The Nelson Mandela House Museum is located in Soweto, a southwestern suburb of Johannesburg. The museum was opened in 1997 when the great anti-apartheid fighter donated his house to the Soweto Heritage Trust. The one-story brick house preserves the authentic environment of Mandela's life, his personal belongings and photographs are collected here.
