Cham Towers Po-Nagar

Po Nagar Towers
Vietnam, Nha Trang
This monument is one of the most important Cham monuments in Vietnam. It was built in the 8th century in honor of the goddess Yang Ino Po Nagar. Its founders are the Tyam princes Kauthara. Once there were ten of them, but six collapsed over time and only four remained.

The 23-meter North Tower (Thap Chin) with a terraced pyramidal roof, with a brick hall and vestibule inside, is a magnificent example of Cham architecture. It was built in 817. In the pyramidal main hall, 28 m high, there is a black stone statue of the goddess Uma (in the form of Bhagavati) with 10 arms.

The Central Tower (Thap Nam) was built partly from used bricks in the 12th century. on the site of a building dating from the 7th century. It is less beautiful than the other towers and has few decorations; its pyramidal roof has no terraces or pilasters. The ornate Northwest Tower (Thap Tei Bak) was originally dedicated to Ganesha. The roof of the tower, crowned with a pyramid-shaped end, has not been preserved.

Great place to visit, tickets cost less than a buck in 2015. We walked from the hotel. Not big, but beautiful area. If you climb to the very top, you have a beautiful view. There is a small temple in the complex, in order to enter it you need to put on clothes that are given out for free. While in Vietnam, you should definitely visit this place and look at the places of worship of the Vietnamese.
