Dien Thanh Citadel is located 11 km west of Nha Trang, near the villages of Dientoan and Dient Thanh. The construction of the Citadel belongs to the Chin dynasty of the 17th century. It was rebuilt by Prince Nguyen Anh (later Emperor Gia Long) in 1793 during his successful offensive against the Tay Son rebels. Only a few parts of the wall and gate have survived.
