We stopped at the Red Dunes on the way to the White Dunes. Local kids immediately swooped in, trying to get "sleds" for riding from the dunes. Particularly not impressed. A lot of people and garbage, did not linger. In addition, it was very hot in the open area, the sand was deep and hot. Appropriate footwear required. I do not recommend light, as it can be painted from the sand.→
