Vacationing in Mui Ne with family. Not far from the city of Phan Thiet is Mount Taku, on its top there is a statue of the Reclining Buddha. This is the largest statue in Vietnam. We really wanted to visit this place. They didn’t take an excursion, but only ordered a round-trip transfer with a stop at the lighthouse at the Mui Ne agency - tour. It was not expensive for four people.

The mountain is more than 500 m high, you can climb this mark by funicular. From the top you have a beautiful view of the jungle.

Further, you have to walk to the Buddha. The statue is 11 meters high and 49 meters wide. The construction is really grandiose, taking into account the fact that all the materials were lifted up the mountain by hand. It is believed that if you touch the elbow of the Buddha and make a wish, it will come true.
In addition to the Buddha, there is a pagoda on the mountain. There is a legend that the emperor's mother fell ill and he climbed the mountain to the monk who lived here with a request to heal her. The monk cured his mother.
The emperor, in gratitude, built a pagoda here.
Monks look after the territory. The place is amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Time flew by quickly and it was time to go down the mountain.
Along the way, we stopped at pitahaya plantations.

I don’t know why it says that the entrance is free - the entrance is paid, and you have to pay for the funicular. We got 6.5 dollars per person + transfer.
