Haight-Ashbury is located east of
Golden Gate Park at the intersection of Haight and Ashbury Streets. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was considered one of the elite residential areas, and in 1967 it became famous, because it was here that the famous hippie parade took place, which marked the beginning of the “Summer of Love”. Today, Haight Ashbury is a lively area of the city, home to many themed shops associated with the hippie culture.
