Coit Tower is located in the northeast part of the city, south of the Pier 39 Shopping and Entertainment Center. The 69-meter reinforced concrete structure was built in 1933. The tower was named Lily Coit, who donated a large sum for its construction. Numerous tourists are attracted by the wonderful views from the observation deck of the Coit Tower.
