The Chinese Theater is a cinema on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, which traditionally hosts the premieres of most Hollywood films. It also hosts regular screenings of films from the classic Hollywood fund for a symbolic ticket price. Until the beginning of January 2013, the cinema was called "Grauman's Chinese Theatre", in honor of the impresario Siv Grauman, who built the theater building in 1927. After a sponsorship deal with a Chinese electronics company, the new name for Grauman's theater is TCL Chinese Theatre.
The building and interiors of the cinema reproduce the style of imperial China - this is a beautifully painted ceiling, this is a portico with a carved stone figure of a dragon, these are the relief columns of the stage. In front of the Chinese Theater is the main part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The cinema has a courtyard surrounded by 12-meter-high curved walls, inside which there is its own “Walk of Fame” in the form of hand and footprints of Hollywood movie stars of different generations. Candidates for getting on this "Walk of Fame" are chosen by the owners of the cinema.
Silent film actress Norma Talmadge was the first to leave her footprints here, accidentally stepping on fresh cement near the theater. Now on the sidewalk outside the Chinese Theater you can see the hand and footprints of almost 200 movie stars, from Charlie Chaplin to Daniel Radcliffe.
