The Hollywood Walk of Fame is located in Los Angeles on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard for 15 blocks and on Wayne Street for 3 blocks. Mounted on the sidewalk are more than 2,500 stars measuring 1.8 meters, made of coral pink terrazzo composite material with a brass rim and with the name of the laureate, made of copper. Below the name is a round copper emblem symbolizing the category in which the laureate excelled. In total there are 5 categories for contribution to development: film industry, television, music and sound recording, radio, theater. The Walk of Fame honors actors, musicians, directors and producers, cartoon characters and other real or fictional characters for their contributions to the entertainment and arts industry as judged by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and a selection committee.

The stars of world famous people are located in front of the Chinese Theatre. The Oscar-winning stars are mostly installed in the area around the Kodak Theater, home of the annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards.
When planning the "Walk of Fame", it was envisaged that it could accommodate 2518 stars. When space for new stars began to run out in the late 1990s, it was decided to create a second row of stars on the sidewalk, which would alternate with the existing ones.
