Fenway Park is a baseball stadium that has played games since 1912. Today, it is the oldest stadium hosting Major League Baseball games, as well as the home games of the local Boston Red Sox team. At the time of its opening, Fenway Park was the largest stadium in America, but even today its size is impressive - there are more than 39,000 seats. During its centenary existence, sports legends were born at the stadium and dramatic events related to baseball took place. A particularly notable part of Fenway Park is the 11m high wall known as the "Green Monster" which serves as the left field boundary. In addition to baseball games, the stadium also hosts concerts, religious and political campaigns, and other cultural and entertainment events.
