Boston Public Garden
Boston Public Garden, Public Garden, Boston City Garden
USA, Boston
The community garden adjacent to the Boston Common is an oasis in downtown Boston. It was founded in 1837 as the first botanical garden in America and covers an area of 97,000 square meters. m. Many trees, flowers and shrubs grow in the park, as well as many statues, fountains and monuments. The western part of the park is dominated by an equestrian statue of George Washington. In the center of the garden there is a lake, where in summer locals and visitors of the city like to ride boats in the shape of swans (this tradition is already 120 years old), and in winter they go skating. Since nature in the park is carefully protected in a number of places it is forbidden to walk on the lawn and ride a bicycle. The Boston Public Garden is a favorite place for relaxation and walks for both citizens and tourists.
