Historic Freedom Trail

Freedom Trail, Freedom Trail, Freedom Trail
USA, Boston
The Freedom Trail is a walking route in Boston that links the city's most significant historical landmarks. In 1951, local journalist W. Schofield came up with the idea of creating such a route, and since then the Trail has been very popular with all visitors to Boston. The Freedom Trail is paved with red brick almost along the entire route, 4 km long. This path starts from the Boston Common and ends at the ancient ship "Constitution", passing by 16 major historical sites of the city associated with the struggle of the American people for independence and marked with memorable signs. You can walk along the Freedom Trail both on your own and accompanied by guides dressed in historical costumes of the corresponding era.

Great idea how to organize an independent walk around the city. Usually in a new place without a guide you don’t know where to go, except for the central square, and here is a planned easy and informative route. We went there and back in 4 hours, stopping along the way for a glass of wine with oysters and an old ship.
