Institute of Contemporary Art
USA, Boston
The Institute of Contemporary Art is an art museum located in a modern glass and iron building on Boston Bay. The museum was founded in 1936 and was called the Boston Museum of Modern Art, but during the subsequent time it was renamed and repeatedly moved to different buildings. Since 2006, the museum has been housed in a state-of-the-art building designed by the architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, which embodies the concept of the institution itself.
The museum's vast exhibition space features works and installations by contemporary local and international artists such as Philip Lorca di Corsia, Shepard Fairey, Anish Kapoor, Tara Donovan and others. The building of the Institute of Contemporary Arts has a stunning hall with a panoramic glass wall, from which you can admire beautiful views of Boston Harbor and its environs.
