Boston Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Hall
Boston Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Hall, BSO, Symphony Hall Building
USA, Boston
The Boston Symphony Orchestra is one of the five oldest and leading American symphony orchestras, referred to as the "Big Five". It is widely known not only in the USA, but also beyond its borders, since world-famous stars perform in its composition. 1881 is the founding year of the orchestra, which has given most of its concerts since 1900 at the Symphony Hall. Often, on important dates for the orchestra and on other solemn occasions, the Boston Symphony Orchestra commissions music from prominent contemporary composers. The home stage of the Symphony Hall Orchestra, with a capacity of 2,600 seats, has some of the best acoustic parameters in the world. There is also a concert organ in the hall, which impresses the listeners with the purity of its sound.
