New England Aquarium
New England Aquarium
USA, Boston
The New England Aquarium was opened in 1969 in Boston Harbor. It includes not only the huge aquarium itself, but also a science and education center, a Simons IMAX 3D cinema, a gift shop and a small eatery. In summer, boat trips to the open sea for whale watching are organized here. It is noteworthy that in its huge Oceanic Cistern, with a capacity of 76,000 liters, conditions are created that are as close as possible to the natural habitat of marine animals. About 20,000 inhabitants of the underwater world of the Pacific reefs and Arctic ice are gathered here. The Aquarium also hosts various information and entertainment events - feeding penguins, training fur seals and seals, feeding animals by divers in the ocean tank and individual presentations of the most interesting animals in the aquarium. A giant water container, surrounded by a spiral staircase, is a kind of water museum - an artificial coral reef has been created in it, where sea turtles, sharks, barracudas, rays and other sea creatures live. Next to this cylinder are tanks with different types of jellyfish. The New England Aquarium is a place that will be interesting for both adults and children.
