The National Air and Space Museum is located on the National Mall next to the National Museum of Natural History. It was founded in 1976. The museum has a rich collection of aircraft - here you can find the glider of the Wright brothers, and the compartment of the Apollo 11 spacecraft that visited the moon, and World War II aircraft. Visitors are also given the opportunity to fly aircraft on special simulators.
