The National Museum of the American Indian is located on the southeast end of the National Mall near the National Air and Space Museum . It was founded in 1989 and has been hosting the museum since 2004 in its current modernist building of Kasota limestone and full of curves. It is dedicated to the history of Native American tribes, the expositions tell about the Indian theater, music, dances and national cuisine.
