Lake Maricheika
Lake Maricheyka
Carpathians, Verkhovyna
Lake Maricheyka is located in the Verkhovyna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. It was formed as a result of the descent of the glacier. Despite the fact that the area of its water surface is about 7 square kilometers, the lake is very shallow - the maximum depth is only 80 centimeters. But this is not what Maricheika is remarkable for, but for its bewitching landscapes. Its shores are covered with sedge and subalpine meadows. A scientific and educational trail runs to the lake from Verkhovyna, where tourists can see many animals and plants, including endemics.
