Trufanets is considered the highest waterfall in Transcarpathia - its height is an impressive 36 m! The waterfall is located near the urban-type settlement of Yasinya - about 5.5 km. Unlike many similar natural phenomena, to get to the Trufanets waterfall, you do not need to make your way through the thicket for a long time. It is enough to walk a little from the highway connecting Yasinya and the village of Kvasy. In addition to the impressive height, the peculiarity of the waterfall is that it consists of numerous cascades, as a result of which the effect of “milk” is created: the water, falling on the stones, foams and becomes white, not transparent. For the convenience of tourists, a gazebo has been installed at the foot of the waterfall, which acts as an observation deck. The waterfall got its name from the Trufanets River, in the estuary part of which it is located. It is worth noting that the waterfall is beautiful at any time of the year, because it is always full of water. On a hot summer day, it is better to take warm clothes with you, because after spending 15 minutes in a dark forest, and even near the streams of icy water, a pleasant coolness will be replaced by an uncomfortable chill.
