Elias Church
Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah, Elias Monastery, Monistir of the Prophet Іllі
Carpathians, Yaremche
Elias Church was built in 1937 by local architect Ivan Yavorsky. It is named after St. Elijah, the patron saint of the Studion Monastery, on whose territory it is located. After World War II, the monastery was abolished, and the church was returned to the Studites in 1990.
The building in the form of a cross was built without a single nail. The main attraction of the interior is a unique iconostasis with scorched icons decorated with beautiful carvings.
