Waterfall Wuchang-Su

Wuchang Suv Waterfall
Crimea, Yalta
The famous complex monument of nature (1947).

The Uchan-Su River originates in limestones under the Ai-Petri Yayla cliff; at an altitude of 390 meters above sea level, it forms a waterfall with the same name. Its water falls from a height of 98 meters. Downstream, three smaller waterfalls cascade down from sheer cliffs.

A particularly impressive sight is Wuchang-Su in spring and late autumn, when a huge mass of foamy water falls down with force, sometimes dragging large boulders with it. A cloud of water dust hangs over the waterfall, and the sound of the stream can be heard from a kilometer away.

In summer, only weak trickles run down the gray surface of the rocks - do not waste your time and money.

Regular waterfall. Nothing special. Worth a stop when passing by. Everything would be fine, but the pipe running along the height of the entire waterfall spoils the whole view.

We visit Yalta either in January or May, not in the driest months, so we saw Uchan-Su quite full-flowing. When I showed pictures of a friend who visits there exclusively at the end of August, she was terribly surprised, asking: “Is this Wuchang-Su ??!! ” And this year we made our way to where the waterfall falls from! From this angle, I liked it even more!

Who knew that this is not the time to visit the waterfalls. Still had a great time and took pictures. This is the highest waterfall in the Crimea, so in the spring we will definitely go again to look at this *probably* splendor of nature. Entrance to the territory costs 50 rubles - which, in principle, is not money at all.

I love waterfalls. True, you need to come here in the off-season, when they are full-flowing and show all their power. In May, it had not yet dried up, but, as we were told, it "worked" at one third of its strength. Entrance fee - 50 rubles. People even drank water from it) The road to the waterfall is broken, but it is full of green around.
