Monument of nature (1969), where interesting sights are concentrated.
A little to the north of
Ai-Todor rises the trapezoidal mountain Ai-Nikola (389m). Its northern slope is flat and wooded, while its southern slope is a steep rocky wall with occasional climbing trees. The path to the top of Ai-Nikola starts from the gazebo with columns. Academician I.V. was very fond of climbing along it. Kurchatov, who rested in these places in the 50s. Since then, this trail has been called Kurchatovskaya. The ascent is not easy, but the academician climbed every day: he was very impressed by the view from the mountain and "strengthened his thought processes." Gradually, the shrub begins to turn into a rather dense mixed forest, where relics will begin among pines, oaks, maples, and cotoneaster closer to the top: tall juniper and small-fruited strawberry - an amazing evergreen long-lived tree with a smooth reddish trunk.
So, on the western shoulder of Ai-Nikola, at an altitude of about 320m, in a small romantic tract behind ancient masonry, we can see a huge strawberry. It is one of the oldest in the Crimea (at least a thousand years old), and the thickness of the trunk in girth is 4 meters!
