Waterfall Silver Jets

Grand Canyon Falls, Silver Falls, Silver Strings
Crimea, Sokolyne
A well-known Crimean landmark in the Grand Canyon area is the Silver Streams waterfall or simply Silver. There, from the Grand Canyon stop, there is a wide road with signs and intrusive service. The waterfall is really beautiful, even in summer, when there is very little water and the streams of water flowing down the bright green moss look like silver, especially in sunny weather.

The waterfall is located on the Sary-Uzen (Yellow River), although in other sources the river is called Chain-Su and is the left tributary of the Sary-Uzen. It must be assumed that the name is given by the yellow color of tuff deposits carried by water from the bowels of the mountains.
Above the waterfall, about two hundred meters away, there is a pond, arranged for breeding trout by Prince Yusupov, the owner of these places in the past. Passing through Sokolinoye (formerly Kokkozy - Heavenly Eyes), you can see Yusupov's hunting lodge and the mosque he built for the villagers. The lake water is usually deep blue in color. Water in the lake comes from the karst cave Sary-Koba (Yellow), located right at the side of the road. The entrance to the cave is available only to speleologists with the appropriate equipment. This is the source of Sary-Uzen (Chain-Su).

Unfortunately, this waterfall no longer exists. January 8.2016 it collapsed, or rather, the visor above the grotto, covered with green moss, broke off, along which streams of water flowed down, from which the waterfall got the name "Silver Jets". Naturally, the stream of water flowing over the stones remained, but this is no longer the same view and not the unique tourist object that it was before. Didn't save... I am adding old photos of how the Waterfall looked before. Higher from the Waterfall, if you go up the forest road, it is interesting to visit the Yusupov Dam and the observation deck "Stone Turn", with a panorama of the Grand Canyon.
