The Su-Uchkhan waterfall (Sutyshkan, Subotkhan) is formed by the Kizilkobinka River at the exit from the Kharanlikh-Koba karst cave, which is the lower part of the large
Kizil-Koba cave complex. The waterfall breaks down from the top of the "Tuff area" from a height of 25 meters and rushes down, forming cascades of waterfalls, whirlpools and waterfalls. To the right of the lower cascade is the entrance to a small grotto. The waterfall is located 3.5 kilometers from the village of Perevalnoe.
Su-Uchkhan in translation from Tatar means "falling water". There is also a translation option “Master of the Three Waters”, since several ancient pack trails pass through this place.
The largest stream - Kizil-Koba, flows from the north, in the middle - Alyosha water, also flowing from the cave along the picturesque gorge. The third - along a fairly gentle beam - from springs below the former village of Biyuk-Yankoy, burned by the Nazis. All three Crimean Tatar villages in these places were destroyed by the Nazis for helping the partisans - Kizil-Koba, Biyuk-Yankoy and Yeni-Sala.
The air at the waterfall is saturated with ions. The followers of Porfiry Ivanov take baths in the streams of the waterfall and baths of youth near it. The water in the baths of youth does not freeze even in the most severe frosts, even if almost the entire waterfall is shackled by an ice shell. This is because the Kizil-Koba River originates from underground sources that have almost the same temperature all year round.
