The Kiik-Koba grotto cave is located in the valley of the Zui River, 8 km south of the village of the same name. It has an area of about 50 m. The entrance to the Kiik-Koba grotto has a southern exposure. A deciduous forest approaches the grotto from all sides. In 1924-1925. archaeologists discovered in the cave the oldest site of primitive man in the Crimea. Up to 500 flint tools were found here, which were used about 100 thousand years ago, many bone remains of the extinct fauna of the Crimea. Among the animals that lived at that time in the vicinity of the cave and served as a subject of hunting were a mammoth, a rhinoceros, a cave hyena, a cave bull, a wild horse, a giant deer, a cave bear, a wild boar, a wild donkey (jigetai). Kiik-Koba grotto cave has been a natural monument since 1947. Kiik-Koba is a scientific object of world importance.
