white rock

Ak-kaya, a mountain range near Belogorsk
Crimea, Simferopol
White rock (Ak-Kaya). This is an amazing monument of nature, archeology and history of Crimea. It gave the modern name to the city of Belogorsk and is located six kilometers north of it. Its rocky bulk rises above the river Biyuk-Karasu (Bolshaya Karasevka) by more than 100 m. This place is especially loved by photographers, artists and filmmakers - such films as "The Man from Capuchin Boulevard", "Mustang Pacer", "Headless Horseman" were filmed here "," Leader of the Redskins "," Mirage ". This place is very reminiscent of the American "wild west", and it was filmed in Russian westerns. You can get to the rock from the city of Belogorsk by bus or minibus in just 10 minutes (traffic interval is about 30-40 minutes), and buses run to Belogorsk from Simferopol every one to two hours. Stop - the village of the same name "White Rock". In order to climb to the top of the cliff, you need to walk along it until the turn to the gorge - at its end there will be a fairly convenient climb up, or go around the rock to the right of the main ledge of the rock along the road along which motorists enter it. In the vicinity of the White Rock, many sites of primitive man have been discovered and explored. In these places there were very favorable natural conditions for him - many species of animals for hunting, caves for housing. If you walk along the steep wall of the giant, you begin to notice many grottoes and caves, ledges that look like fortress towers and loopholes, which were sculpted by wind, sun and water.

As a child, she loved the film "Mustang Pacer" very much, where in the finale the horse rushes off a cliff, preferring death to captivity. Much later, having long since left childhood and for the first time seeing the White Rock from afar, she clung to the window of the Simferopol-Sudak bus. I really wanted to see her up close. A few years later we went to the Crimea by car and we finally succeeded. Impressive. But it was already getting dark, and we were in a hurry to the New World, so we did not go upstairs.
