In 1964, a memorial wall was erected on Nakhimov Square with 19 memorial plaques engraved with the names of units of the Primorsky Army, ships of the Black Sea Fleet and industrial enterprises that participated in the defense of the city of Sevastopol in 1941-1942. (architects Artyukhov, Kalinkov, Sdobnyakov). In 1967, according to the project of the architect Fialko and sculptor Yakovlev, 7 more granite slabs with the names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union were installed. The whole composition was united by a relief image of a warrior repelling an enemy attack.
