The palace was built in the Neo-Romanesque style, using elements of the Italian Renaissance. The entrances to the building, stairs and arches are decorated with sculptures of lions and characters from ancient Greek mythology. All this is the work of Italian and German masters of the late 19th century. on all sides the palace is surrounded by relic trees and miniature pools.

Palace Park - a monument of garden architecture - the brainchild of the famous gardener Karl Kebach, spread over an area of ​​16.5 hectares. It contains more than 200 species of ornamental trees and shrubs. The summer heat is brightened up by the coolness of numerous fountains of the palace, fed by mountain streams.

Prince Felix Yusupov, Count Sumarkov-Elston, was the Governor-General of Moscow, and his son, Felix Yusupov Jr., went down in history as an active participant in the assassination attempt on Grigory Rasputin.
In the autumn of 1912, the engagement of Felix Yusupov Jr. with the niece of Tsar Nicholas II, Grand Duchess Irina Alexandrovna, took place in the palace.

In 1945, during the Yalta conference of the heads of the three allied powers in the fight against German fascism, the Yusupov Palace was the residence of the Soviet delegation headed by I.V. Stalin.
