Karaite kenasses are a whole complex where you can get acquainted with the religion, culture, customs and cuisine of such a small people as the Karaites. I recommend visiting accompanied by a guide, since on your own it will take you a maximum of 15 minutes to inspect Kenass, and you will definitely not understand anything about the life and traditions of this ancient ethnic group. It is better to book a tour in advance: tel. +7(36569.3-30-35. In the off-season the Complex is open from 12.00 to 17.00, in summer - from 10.00.
After visiting Kenass and purchasing characteristic souvenirs, be sure to stop by for lunch at the national cafe "Karaman" - you will not try this Karaite cuisine anywhere else. The cafe is very popular with tourists and locals, so there are always queues here (especially in summer, in the evening).
This Cafe should not be considered as an exquisite restaurant for gatherings - it is rather a refectory near the Temple.
There is no alcohol here, but there is an amazing drink "buza", there are no dishes from the chef, but there are branded chebureks and yantyks that melt in your mouth (pasties can be ordered to take away). And yes, please, don't stay here for a long time, because on the street, under the sun, the same thirsty people are waiting for their turn to taste Karaite food.
